🕊️ Unity: The Need of the Hour

Addressing a National Workshop on Balochistan in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that national unity and provincial harmony are the only ways to tackle Pakistan’s growing challenges — including terrorism, inequality, and under-development.

“Whether Punjabi, Sindhi, Baloch or Pashtun — we are Pakistanis first,” the prime minister said. “We must stand together as a family to extinguish any fire that threatens our nation.” 🇵🇰

He urged citizens and provincial leaders to foster brotherhood, sacrifice, and cooperation, reminding them that Pakistan’s strength lies in its diversity and solidarity.

🏛️ Remembering True Federal Spirit

Recalling the 2010 National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, PM Shehbaz shared how Punjab showed magnanimity when Balochistan CM Nawab Aslam Raisani demanded an increase in his province’s share.

“As Punjab’s chief minister, I declared that Punjab was ready to contribute whatever was needed,” he said to applause. “That was the true spirit of federation — four brothers under one roof.”

He questioned what went wrong afterward that led to growing mistrust among provinces, urging all leaders to return to a spirit of cooperation.

⛰️ Balochistan’s Untapped Potential

Calling Balochistan the heart of Pakistan, the premier noted its rich culture, vast geography, and immense natural resources worth “trillions of dollars.”

“Sadly, these resources still lie buried under the mountains — untouched and underutilized,” he lamented.

He acknowledged that Balochistan’s people — Baloch, Pashtuns, Punjabis, and others — had always lived in peaceful coexistence, and the challenge now is to ensure that every community feels ownership of Pakistan’s growth and prosperity. 🌍

💣 Terrorism & Security Concerns

PM Shehbaz expressed deep concern over the resurgence of terrorism in Balochistan and other regions.

“In 2018, terrorism was nearly eliminated, but it has unfortunately re-emerged,” he said. “We must unite to overcome this menace once and for all.”

He stressed that national unity was essential to restore peace and rebuild trust among citizens and institutions.

🛣️ Turning the “Bloody Road” Into a “Road of Peace”

Referring to the Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD) Highway — N-25, which connects Karachi to Chaman, the prime minister said it had earned the tragic nickname “the bloody road” due to frequent deadly accidents.

In April, his government decided to divert Rs180 billion, saved from reduced oil prices, toward reconstructing this crucial highway rather than giving temporary fuel relief.

“If we use these funds wisely, this bloody road can become a road of peace,” he stated proudly.

He added that this decision aimed to promote harmony and development across provinces, noting that not a single voice opposed his move — a sign of national consensus.

🌐 Vision for the Future

PM Shehbaz called upon all provinces to rise above politics and focus on collective progress, urging a national mindset of inclusion, cooperation, and long-term planning.

“From Peshawar to Karachi, we must prove that Pakistan stands united — as one nation, one purpose, one destiny.” 🇵🇰✨
